I have been reading a lot of discussion on whether Obama should campaign for Jim Martin and if he will.
In fact, the AJC printed an article today titled Will Obama Campaign for Martin.
He might or he might not and I'm going to tell it that only we can make the difference. We have to help Jim Martin win this race.
Reaching my goal is a good first step.
There are a lot of politics involved in a potential Obama visit. First of all it may interfere with Obama's call for more non-partisanship. Secondly, Martin may not be helped by an Obama visit.
From the AJC article
An Obama visit could motivate Martin voters, but it also could energize the Republican base for Chambliss. A high-profile visit also could create the appearance that the just-finished presidential election is being played out all over.
Obama, however, could get involved on a smaller scale, helping Martin raise money or appearing in ads for him. Some of Obama’s ground troops in the state are already gearing up to help Martin turn out the vote.
So that leave us with the option of picking up the slack. We need this seat. And Jim Martin is a great candidate and Saxby Chambliss is well not so great. The balance of the Senate and the ability to get to 60 could very well be decided in this race.
If you haven't given $10, $15, or whatever you can afford, now is the perfect opportunity. We've heard the Chambliss has already recruited top GOP help in this race.
