Preserved on Memorex!
"I'd never seen anything like that ad. Putting pictures of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden next to the picture of a man who left three limbs on the battlefield -- it's worse than disgraceful. It's reprehensible."
-- Sen. John McCain, quoted by CNN, on the campaign ads used by Saxby Chambliss (R) against Sen. Max Cleland (D-GA) in the 2002 U.S. Senate race.
McCain is now scheduled to campaign for Chambliss in his Georgia run off against Jim Martin (D).
I hope that the Jim Martin campaign will use McCain's 2002 quote in TV ads when McCain comes to Georgia to campaign for the scumbag (seven deferment) Chambliss. Democrats should be running a campaign based on this being the last chance for citizens of Georgia to atone for electing the worst person in the world to the Senate. If Saxby Chambliss held his hand out for me to shake, I'd spit on it. He's the lowest gutter trash there is...equating a United States Senator and war hero who lost three limbs in Vietnam to Osama bin Ladin was shameful and then trashing his military record was beyond the pale. Saxby Chambliss deserves to lose and this is Georgia's moment to correct their error!
John McCain ran the worst campaign in presidential history. He gave up honor and integrity for politcal ambition, now he's just truly morally bankrupt.
John McCain and Saxby Chambliss will both be remembered as selfish, slimy partisan hacks with no sense of decency. They wrote their own legacy's and history will not be kind to either one of them, especially the cowardly Chambliss.
