Courtesy of Americablog, we learn that Cinemark CEO Alan Stock from Plano, TX, gave $9,999 to support passage of Prop 8.
Cinemark owns 2700 screens in 13 countries in North and South America, including the brands Cinemark, Century, CinéArts, and Tinseltown.
As Aravosis says:
Time to avoid this cinema like the plague.
Couldn't agree more. Further vented rage and frustration after the jump...
AFAIC, they don't want my business. And they can't have it. There is no way I would support a business whose CEO thinks it's OK to donate ten grand to take away my civil rights.

Alan Stock has every right to contribute to whatever cause he likes. But we have the right to choose what businesses we will patronize. His Board of Directors also has the right to determine whether his actions detrimentally effect the company as they are all fiduciary officers and responsible for the stockholders best interests.
I'll be glad to join anyone protesting here at the Century 9 San Francisco Centre (located on top of Bloomies). I think we can find other movie theaters to attend (like the Metreon one block away). I'm going to avoid them like the plague. I find it unbelievable (and highly offensive) that this yutz feels compelled to send $10,000 from TEXAS all the way to CA to take away my civil rights.
