Amongst all the outrage of Lieberman not getting soundly smacked up the side of the head an tossed to the curb we all may have missed something. First, if you can stomach it, look at the after caucus vote presser with Reid and Lieberman. Pay close attention to what Lieberman says at the very end.
So, next week Lieberman and McCain will be introducing a Anti-Global Warming Bill, which is on Obama's agenda. I find this curious coming on the heels of yesterday's meeting with McCain. Obama's earlier comments about Lieberman to let bygones be bygones. Plus the mentions that Obama has spoken directly with Lieberman over the past several days. Then throw in Lieberman's mention that he owes the retention of his Chairmanship in large part to President-elect Obama. One has to begin to wonder is Lieberman already starting to dance to President-elect Obama's tune. Has this bill already been gone over and approved by President-elect Obama and his transition team?
Call me anything you wish, but so far Obama hasn't made a move that wasn't in the end pretty f'ing smart. My sense is that Lieberman kept his chair based on some concessions to Obama that Joe was going to be his bitch for awhile.
Now, I will be the first to say this is pure speculation, but it makes sense to me at least coming from President-elect Obama's perspective.
UPDATE: Now add this Obama video to the mix.
