Why am i not surprised the Clinton-Obama SoS talks have become a mini-drama that's being played heavily through the media??
Could it be because the Clintons are involve and once the Clintons are involve , you will be served with a loads of leaks and powergrab move that only serves their own interest first.
The greatest argument against Hillary being SoS is the very fact that she's a terrible manager...But part of being SoS is the fact that she will have to manage the state department and hire/appoint people that will be in charge of overseeing it.
The fact that she's a sloppy manager had been proven correct again and again during her years in the White house when Bill Clinton let her manage the Health-care initiative and she completly torpedoed it because of her difficult managerial skills and relationship with people who were suppose to help get the initiative through congress.
More recently , we've read how chaotic the inside of the Clinton 2008 primary campaign got and how they were fractions of her inner-circles constantly at war with each other and leaking like crazy.
What shocked me is the fact that it was Bill Clinton who made all the big decisions and seem to have too much authority...She couldnt control him and it clearly was the case as he went bombastic while attacking Obama.
Her inner-circles are extremely loyal to her interest and very divisive BUT it will be those same clowns who will be appointed by SoS Hillary Clintons.
Does Obama really want those folks in the fold when he knows those folks have Hillary's interest as their number one priority?
----------------
Obama supporters who are skeptical of bringing in Hillary into the Obama administration , have been viciously attacked as being bitter anti-hillary fringes , but after watching how those talks have proceeded during the past 6 days ever since it was leaked she was being considered/or she was offered the job , im totally vindicated that it is very dangerous to bring Hillary into the fold.
Those Clinton supporters main attacks on skeptical obama supporters , is to say how hard the Clintons campaigned for Obama and no loser has ever gone so far for a nominee , but what those clinton-supporters doesnt tell you is the fact that the Clintons really did not have a choice but to strongly back Obama , AT LEAST PUBLICLY.
Do you really think they had an option?....They were already being heavily criticized for staying in the race too long , using divisive tactics during the primary and not ackowledging Obama candidacy was legit....They had to do everything to show the world they werent bitter about their lost and anything less would had completly killed their reputation inside and outside the party.
Also they were rampid rumors that the Clintons were privatly telling their friends Obama couldnt win..This led to many speculators to advance the theory the Clintons were already preparing for a 2012 Hillary-Sarah match-up.
So any Clinton-supporters who points to how the Clintons works hard for Obama as a reason why Obama should trust them , are misleading...Fact is , they would had been destroyed if they didnt show a complete fullthroated support toward the nominee.
Bill Clinton clearly showed us he wasnt too thrilled about losing to Obama , during his Global initiative interviews and seemed to have much more respect for McCain then Obama.
There's a NYT article stating how dramatic these talks with the Clintons have gone with the Clintons clearly leaking for leverage
Both sides were engaged in a delicate public and private dance, maneuvering for position and reputation in case the deal falls through. Aides in each camp have grown increasingly sour toward the other in recent days as the matter played out publicly.
Am i suppose to be surprised that those talks have become sour?
Why is it the Eric Holder , Napolitano talks and vetting went smoothly with no leaks until the Obama camp were ready to announce them...If it leaked , the Obama camp quickly affirmed it within a day or two.
On the other hand , the Clinton talks have become a mini soap-opera and till this day , we still cant figure out whether Obama offered her the job or just told her she was being considered.
The Obama camp have softly pushed back after they suspected the Clinton leaked that the job was hers but she hadnt made up her mind yet.
Obama colossal mistake was to bring her into a face-to-face meeting...This gave everyone the impression that the job was hers if she wanted it...That was not wize , considering the fact that he hadnt even started vetting Bill Clinton.
Here's the COUP DE GRAS by the Clinton camp , met to completly box in Obama and corner him into quickly handing off the S0S job.
In their public signals, the Clintons are trying to take the former president’s activities off the table as an issue, in their view eliminating any excuses for Mr. Obama not to give Mrs. Clinton the job. Some in the Obama camp are bristling at what they see as strategic leaks by the Clintons aimed at boxing in the president-elect and forcing him to offer the post.
Obama handled this situation very poorly and it was extremely predictable this kind of stuff was going to happen...Now , Obama's camp seems to be surprised at the Clintons tactics?
At this point , Obama has no choice but to give her the job , even if something bad comes up in the Bill Clinton vetting....The Clintons are already stating there's nothing like that in Bill's record.
This is why i'm very skeptical of bringing Clinton in:
The tension could foreshadow a complex relationship burdened by suspicion and enmity should Mrs. Clinton become secretary of state. By putting her in the cabinet, Mr. Obama could remove a potential thorn in the Senate on issues like health care and a potential rival for the nomination in 2012 if his term proves rocky. But he could also face a rival power center within his own administration with her on his team.
Why sould Obama have to worry about whether the Clinton have his best interest in mind?..There's so much else to worry about , but now , he has to keep in eye on them to make sure they are in line with his orders
Everytime the Clintons goes off script , they will be a lot of suspicions inside the white house and i wonder whether it is wize to even give it a shot...
Obama will have enough to worry about , so the last thing he wants to turn attention to is whether one of his cabinet member is plotting and doing her own thing.
The cardinal sin of a masterful managers is to hire someone you will have a hard time unloading if things goes bad.
Another cardinal sin is to never try to manage someone with egos the size of the U.S.
