Proposition 8 Forces Focus On The Family Into
Massive Layoffs
Those darn gays and their desire to treated like any other American couple...they've forced James Dobson's Focus on the Family to announce layoffs of approximately 20% of their work force, or 202 employees, due in no small part to the more than $500,000 spent on the Yes on 8 campaign.
That's how we're going to beat the radical "christian" right at their own game.
Remember back in the Reagan (Blessed be his name!) Era how Ronnie decided the best way to beat the Russkies was to bankrupt them? Well, ol' Ronnie set out to create the biggest arms race in history. He knew that the Reds had no where near the wherewithal to match let alone outspend us even if it meant driving the U.S economy into the largest national debt ever. (Until 'W' of course.)
So let's take the Reagan approach and apply it to the "christian" righties who want to drive gays and lesbians and their quest for equality from the face of the earth. Let's start an Internet campaign to raise millions of dollars to challenge every state law that discriminates against gays and lesbians in any way, shape or form. Don't forget we're the ones with the most disposable income. I'm sure David Geffen will cough up a few hundred thou alone.
We can adopt Obama's game plan for using the Internet to raise tons of money. With enough of a war chest, we could begin multiple legal challenges that would not only cost the fundies huge bucks to defend but also tie them up in court battles for years. We might even approach the various pro-choice groups for support as our action would certainly distract them from their other main crusade, a woman's right to choose.
And voila! Before you can say Ru Paul, the fundies will be penniless. Yippee!
Bonus!
