The Bush/Cheney administration has blighted America for nearly 8 years now with an unending parade of corruption, cronyism, malice, incompetence and just plain evil (see: torture). I have tried to think of a single positive accomplishment these knaves and fools have given us, without success.
But today, Condoleeza Rice actually achieved something.
Yep; she made me laugh.
In the aftermath of the utterly despicable Mumbai atrocity, evidently inflicted upon the Indian people by Islamic terrorists trained by the Pakistani ISI (your tax dollars at work, by the way), George W. Bush dispatched his feckless Secretary of State, Condi Rice, to deliver condolences. And in her usual tone-deaf, Sunday-school-teacher-in-Prada manner, Condi delivered pure comedy gold.
Here's what she said to Indian leaders:
"The response of the Pakistani government should be one of cooperation and of action," she said at an evening news conference in New Delhi with her Indian counterpart, Pranab Mukherjee. "Any response needs to be judged by its effectiveness in prevention and also by not creating other unintended consequences or difficulties." (emphasis mine).
I laughed until I cried.
To Condoleeza Rice, the flaming clusterfuck that is present day Iraq is merely "unintended consequences or difficulties". Those millions of refugees and hundreds of thousands of murdered civilians?
You're just "unintended consequences".
These people need to go to prison.
For a long, long time.
