As the ordinary middle class taxpayer, I feel I have fallen into the Kafka's world of economic manipulation and I feel as helpless, frustrated, lost as any Kafka's character could ever possibly feel.
Let's see:
- The government funds itself with money people like me pay as taxes and turns around and gives contracts to companies and people that in turn make money at the expense of people like me. A lot of people make money, but people like me.
- The banks fund themselves with money people like me pay in mortgages, interests and outrageous services fees. A lot of people make money, but people like me. The insurance industry (AIG world) milks it further.
- The auto industry funds itself with money people like me pay buying their cars. Some big shots make money, but not people like me.
- Wall Street funds itself partially by using the money that people like me put in their trust as a retirement plan, hoping to eventually have some moeny. Lots of people make money, and I just bet on the chance I would too.
- The government uses my money to help the banks, wall street, insurance and auto industry, who already made money on me, so a lot of people can continue making lots of money, but me.
In the meantime, the healthcare and oil industry are doing all they can so they can make lots of money on me, and pushes the government not to use my money to help me get affordable services and energy...
I wish I could believe in Santa.
