I have been encouraged to keep posting these photos diaries just for their use as a brief respite from the main business of this site. These photos were all taken this past weekend (including Aloha Friday). Please enjoy.
Friday I shot a little surf at Pipeline on the north shore of Oahu. Always impressive.
The cliched sunset with sailboat shot...
The Pali (cliffs) above Kaneohe on the windward side of Oahu.
A launch site for parasailers above Makapuu with Rabbit Island (Manana Island)in the background. Unfortunately the wind came up suddenly so I didn't get a chance to shoot any launch shots from here.

Evening at Halona (Here to Eternity Beach)
The Mongoose. There little guys were brought to Hawaii in the 1800s from India by way of Jamaica for the purpose of killing rats in the sugar cane fields. It was an awful idea to bring this generalized little killers to a fragile island ecology. To make things even worse mongooses are diurnal (daytime) hunters and rats, of course, are nocturnal so while they do kill some rats they mostly feed on other things including highly endangered native birds.
Evening on the west side at Ko Olina:
