Another in an ongoing series of photo diaries. These are meant purely as distractions and a place to share your late night pooties or whatever you like. This time I am back to posting shots from a trip I took last May to the Okavango Delta of Botswana. It was the trip of a lifetime for me and definitely one of earth's remaining Edens. Tonight this is a Blagojevich free zone. Please enjoy and be good humans.
We'll start with some big cats
A lioness and her kids:
The King
A female leopard
The fastest thing on land, the endangered and genetically challenged Cheetah:
A lazy leo
From the predators to the prey, some ungulates.
The speedy impala
A portrait of an impala buck
The water loving Red Lechwe
The regal Kudu
Some of the really big ones..
The Elephant (someone needs to take this magnificent and sensitive animal away from the GOP as a symbol. We have previously decided that the hagfish would be more appropriate)
And the Hippo
The only two primates I saw were these, the Baboon
and the Vervet Monkey, this one is giving the sign that his cards are fine and that he will stay.
and a couple of birds, a quizzical Martial Eagle
and the common but spectacular Lilac Breasted Roller
