I'm still wondering how many DKos contributors have an interest in local politics (town/city; county; local delegation to the state lege).
There are huge numbers of local issues that can be influenced for the better by a progressive agenda.
For example, the usual case we hear about is the Cretinous Creationist School Board. Fortunately, that agenda promoted by a packed board appears to be on the long downward slope into the dustbin.
Nevertheless, especially in rural areas, there appear to be numbers of people who are conservative "just because" and that seems like an opportunity for conversations to happen about issues that concern everyone.
Local politicians are not always very progressive. And many rural locations simply don't have the mass of connected, blog-reading people to support a local issues forum.
Is there a point to a weekly, or bi-weekly, diary post where people can swap stories and/or tips or methods of getting things done locally?
What's up in your town/state?
Maybe the comments could be titled by location. ("DC ..." -- "Bucks County PA ..." -- "Baltimore ..." --
And of course comments can include links to local and hyperlocal things of interest.
Just asking to gauge the level of interest.
