I've never tried doing a diary like this before, so please forgive me if I screw this up somehow.
With all of us facing such hard times this year, I thought it might be nice if those who do something on behalf of the less fortunate let us know about it here.
It doesn't matter if it's big or small, if you spent a bunch of money or if all you gave was your time -- it's just like the old saying, it's the thought that counts.
Join me after jump for more.
Did you visit an injured veteran? Did you bring toys to an impoverished family with young children? Did you forgive someone who hurt you? Tell us about it. Let's make each act another lit candle for the true spirit of Christmas. It doesn't matter if you're Christian, Jew, Muslim, Atheist or Agnostic (like me), everyone can get behind the idea of helping those less fortunate.
I'd like to think this effort will help show once and for all that there is no such thing as a war on Christmas on this side of the political aisle. Maybe we can build up a critical mass of Christmas spirit here to demonstrate that.
My wife and I are still figuring out exactly what we're going to do tomorrow. We live in New York City, so there are more worthwhile causes than we will ever be able to support here. We want to do something that will directly help needy children, so we're looking in that direction. Any suggestions welcome, of course.
Peace on Earth and goodwill to all.
Merry Christmas.
