If you a NY'er one of the holiday traditions is seeing the great electric train exhibit in the Citicorp building. Well for 2008 and beyond--Bah Humbug.
Citicorp announced that it would not run the exhibit this year. Fortunately there was enough public pressure (which apparently works on everyone but Senate Democrats) to keep it running for 2008.
However, when my wife and I took our 3-yr old son to see it on Saturday--lights off, no action--closed. On the Saturday before Christmas, it shut down at 6:00.
I guess both my bailout money AND my mortgage payments aren't enough to pay someone $50.00 to keep it running for a few more hours.
Thus, my son who is at the perfect age to appreciate it, and maybe see that a corporation can do nice things for a community when it wishes, will only know Citigroup as the place I send a lot of money to every month to keep a roof over our heads (and the poster child for ruining the economy).
