When the IRA was setting off bombs in England did England send the airforce to strike at Northern Ireland itself under the pretext that it was only bombing IRA sites? What would have happened if they had? Would the world have accepted it as appropriate?
This is a question Robert Fisk, the pre-eminent Middle-east war correspondent, asks in The Independent and I think the answer is obvious:condemnation of Britain. But if the victims are Arab civilians it's apparently ok because in Gaza they support Hamas---as if the Northern Irish didn't support the IRA.
Fisk also claims that all the rockets Hamas has sent into Israel have killed 20 in EIGHT years, whereas Israel has killed over 300 in one day with their retaliation.
Israel has been planning this assault for six months apparently, so the Hamas rocket attacks are the pretext, especially as they are so ineffective. But the MSM refuses to see reality.
