Aaron Brown is out at CNN.
Perhaps I am in a miniscule minority, but I appreciated Brown's attempt to present an informed and intelligent news program. Certainly he made mistakes, but his efforts at treating his viewers with respect was obvious.
Television news, as is all Media, is a business, and apparently Brown's numbers did not cut it.
Anderson Cooper is designated as the new star of CNN and, as much as I enjoy Cooper's work, it seems a risk to me. There is, to be honest, a sort of local news quality to Cooper, though he certainly works very hard. It appears to me that CNN, which already has muddied its image with its strange decisions to try and emulate Faux News, does not makes its mission to its viewers much clearer with this move.
But what the hell do I know? Maybe Cooper becomes the new Chet Huntley. Sorry for the indulgence here on my part.
Good luck to Aaron Brown in his future endeavors.
