Sorry about making this a short diary, but I think it needs that individual bit of attention.
Where are the Bush poll numbers? It's now a week since the State of the Union address and no one has released any numbers as far as I can tell. I don't ever remember it taking this long in my lifetime. I seem to remember Reagan approval polls coming out the Friday after the SOTU and that was in the 80s. Surely our ability to get such data has improved since then.
So, what has happened?
My theory:
Bush's numbers are now so unbelievably bad that the administration has simply told all of the polling organizations to hold on releasing them. It could be that Bush has dipped below the 30 percent mark.
I don't see any other reason why not a single polling organization has released Bush's numbers so long after the speech. Am I crazy or am I on to something?
