Disclosure:
Emphasis on HOPE is because it's important.
Emphasis on MAY is because I’m in no way suggesting I’m right and I’m in no way suggesting that any opinion contrary is wrong.
This is my second diary only because my first one about how a divided party MAY be good wasn’t bashed as I assumed it would have been. I’m very thankful that it wasn’t, with exception to the one "gotcha" attempted by one commenter, but I’m compelled to preface this diary by saying that this MAY be my last because I’m still not convinced that unorthodox views are accepted here. I also assume, although I’m Pro-Obama and that I’m inclined to vote Democratic across the board, that many of you wont like the fact that I don’t consider myself a Democrat. I HOPE I’m proven wrong and if that is the case I will admit it in a heartbeat. Numero dos es abajo...
As you probably all know many Americans are on a list that makes flying a bigger hassle for them than the average citizen. I’m one of those fortunate individuals that are singled out for secondary screening and on two occasions I got to what I would call "third base" with TSA agents. If you are on the same list as me, you would have come to expect to get the message that directs you to the airline agents when you try to confirm reservations online (e-tickets are not in your future), you would know that you’re gonna get a dirty look by that agent, you are gonna have to wait longer while they confirm your identity, your ticket will have three bolded letters on it "SSS", you are going to have your luggage searched (thoroughly and swabbed for explosives), you are gonna be pulled aside when going through security and frisked, you can expect to be told by the TSA agent that they are going to touch your crotch, your carry on will be emptied and swabbed for explosives, you can expect, after you are thoroughly humiliated as people stare at you when they pass by, to have your question about getting your name removed from the list answered with a website, you can expect to go to the website and fill out all the information just to find out that the next time you travel you’re still on the list. There are many things we as Americans can expect from our country but for those like me there is more. I can’t tell you why others are on that list and because our government won’t tell me why or remove me from the list I can only speculate.
That being said I decided to submit a video entry because it’s far to easy for someone to submit a diary when his or her anonymity is securely protected by nicknames, hidden emails and all the other things the Internet provides you. In other words I have not fallen victim to the politics of fear and will not hide in the shadows of the Internet when speaking my mind. That lack of fear is probably the catalyst for me being on this list or maybe it's something else.
