Folks,
It has become wholly evident from the Seattle Times' continuing support for the hard right policies of the Bush administration, the recent acquisition of neo-fascist loon Collin Levey as an op-ed columnist (she had previously worked for the Wall Street Journal), not to mention the hiring of multiple young, extreme conservative hacks for the Seattle Times' "Next" page (when the supposedly liberal young Next writers are actually mushy centrists), that the Times has abandoned any pretense of residing in western Washington's political mainstream, and as such the progressive and center-left majority should abandon Mr. Blethen's rag immediately and permanently. A coordinated advertiser and subscriber boycott is a very real possibility, but that may be postponed until after Blethen and company re-endorse Bush this fall. In any event, if you happen to live in the northwest (and even if you don't) we all need to raise our voices about this issue, because the Times clearly has no idea just how far off the reservation they've gone. They're email is opinion@seattletimes.com and the editorial page editor is James Vessely at jvesely@seattletimes.com.
