While I still believe that Hillary Clinton's moves regarding a presidential bid are an attempt to be akingmaker, she may actually be running for the nomination.
If that is so, she has a large lead in the polls and in money.
As I
diaried earlier, I'm not a big fan of Al Gore as a candidate, but he may be the only viable alternative to Hillary, or to whomever she announts, probably someone with the personality of Joe Lieberman, the brains of Jessica Simpson, and the morals of Richard Nixon.
While I think that Gore has had his shot, as an alternative to Billary, would have to reluctantly support him.
First, I think that he's a better person, and second, I think that his years in the wilderness may have led him to understand that playing it safe, as the inside the Beltway drones demand, is a losing strategy.
I'm better with Gore than Clinton, and I'm better with the fire-breathing Gore than I am with the nice guy product of focus groups.
The only way he wins the election is if he says what he thinks, and not what his consultants tell him that the people want to hear.
