Tonight we will show the world what we have built. Tonight we will see the results of the first real test of the New Voter theories. How Dean performs will be an important indication for on-the-fence Democrats who have admired what we and Howard Dean have built. Many remain unsure if what we have seen on the Net and at Meetups can translate to the general election. The question has always been the same: can the magic that has enfused 600,000 supporters really scale up to 50 million voters? Tonight we get our answer, and that answer will be the key clue for Democrats looking to unseat Bush, Rove & Company. Tonight's results (talk of a 40 percent Dean win perhaps?) should end any doubters. Alternatively, a 3rd place finish or a distant second will obviously speak volumes and send us back to the drawing board. Luckily for us there is still plenty of time and plenty of qualified other candidates.
So best of luck to Governor Dean and his fantastic organization. It is truely inspiring and has changed politics forever. Much to be proud of either way. But make no mistake: tonight is the test, and it is pass or fail.
