Hi Guys!
As you, no doubt, know by now, I own a retail store. And, being uberblue, I carry blue merchandise, and not red merchandise. So, for example, if you want a coffee cup where all the red states turn blue when you pour in hot water, you can buy it from us. If you want a coffee cup where all the blue states turn red, you'll have to buy it somewhere else.
As it happens, we also have the widest selection of jigsaw puzzles in Chicago. So, when the new Obama and McCain puzzles came out, we bought the Obama puzzles, and not the McCain puzzles.
JUMP!
The funny thing is, it's not the same puzzle with different faces on them, like the Democratic president puzzle versus the Republican president puzzle, where both groups of presidents sit around a table playing cards, although why you'd want to want to play cards with a bunch of cheating Republicans, frankly, is beyond my ken. But, there you have it. Anyway, we carry the Democratic president puzzle, and, predictably enough, not the Republican one.
But, when the Obama puzzle came it, it was a full size picture of Obama, minus skin pigmentation, and, overlaying him is a large American flag, so, there's Obama in all Red, White and Blue.
McCain's puzzle, on the other hand, says "A New Dawn for America". There is a color picture of John McCain against a backdrop of dead trees and snow falling from the sky. It's incredibly bleak. I almost want to carry it... if you want a very bleak future, vote McCain.
Yet. I'm not going to. We're blue through and through and I'm not going to give anyone any idea that we might be open minded as to which choice is better.
There is no choice. And the puzzles know it. And I thought that was pretty funny and that y'all would want to get a giggle this afternoon.
