I am finding myself about to start an online argument with someone about Reagan's role, or lack thereof, in fighting AIDS. I realize, however, that I'm kind of stupid on the matter. Blame me 'cause was a kid in the 80s, if you wish. But I've got someone citing the data at me that the administration started funding at $8 million in 1982 (I think), and that that went up to become a total of $5 billion over the course of the Presidency.
What do you cite against that? If you'll point me in the right direction, I'll gladly take the opportunity to learn more about it. (Online sources easiest, of course, but I could stand to do some real reading on the subject, I know.) It would be nice to be a real voice for the left, instead of just the progressive dittohead that I sound like without data.
