Bloggy goodness a' la Melanie will be in short supply this afternoon. I have an interview
here. They are looking for a Director of Development and I have some ideas about using New Media, like blogs, for fundraising. Hey, it works for Dean and Clark, it can work in other settings. Give me some love while I'm sweating the interview in my best suit. This is a remarkable organization and it would be an honor to work for them. And they are a block from home. And they are in the same building with my local
Panera Bread franchise. Wish me luck!! Walking to work is cool.
I just learned that Panera has gone
free Wi Fi and my
local franchise is wired. This means blogging over lunch on Fridays if I get the job, and can afford a new WiFi laptop.
Some thoughts for the weekend, when I hope we all slow down:
I will be blogging religion and politics. Get over it.
Philocrites pulled up an article from The Boston Globe which is just too rich to pass without comment. And it is Ramadan. Do you know anything at all about what the kid in the next cubicle, the one with the Indian or Pakistani name, is experiencing right now?
One of the things I've learned about the blogosphere (skippy, get off my case) is that there are some writers out here that surpass anything I can find in my library. While the eBook may never replace the dead tree editions (and I certainly can't imagine balancing a laptop on my knees above a bubble-bath, which is where I do a lot of my reading) there is some serious writing going on in the blogs. Nominate your favorite writer/bloggers in Comments. I gave you a batch of mine last weekend. If you are not reading
Chuck the sun is not shining quite as clearly in your neighborhood as it is in mine. Let's make a list.
If you need help with the html tags to create a link, ask. Help won't be far away. The Kos community takes care of its own.
I'm working on a piece about Fourth Gen Warfare and what it means for the political process. Let's hope my lights don't go out again on Sunday night. The weekend is supposed to be sparkling November weather, in the 70's. We hardly ever get that here.
Are you doing anything special for Halloween?
Meteor Blades is going as Ann Coulter (shudder.) I didn't even have time for a pumpkin this year. I've learned to buy the junk I like. This year, all the left over Cheetos are mine. Mine.
And I have to make pesto this weekend. The basil in the garden needs to come indoors. I freeze pesto down for the winter. Recipes to follow.
Oh, and I am Atrios.
