The bipartisan committee just voted unanimously to recommend that the full house vote to send articles of impeachment on Gov. Blagojevich to the Illinois Senate.
(jump.)
Testimony before the committee just prior to the vote included the currently appointed (by Blago) prior state Attorney General, Burris, who brought little to the table.
The committee suggested that the appointment is under a taint, or less than optimal circumstances, but in no way suggested that Roland Burris would be a poor choice for Senator - beyond the fact that Blago appointed him.
Another report read into the committee report was about non-African Americans given answers to interview or test questions to ensure African American would NOT be hired... and that the woman who looked into this matter (a long time state's employee, on verge of retirement) was fired.
The vote by the House is expected tomorrow.
It was interesting to listen to the vote, but here's the Trib's report.
