Yesterday is was cold and snowing here in Massachusetts. Since it was a Sunday and everyone was home I had little hope of being able to get the TV or be on my computer. There is nothing unusual about this, it's the way every weekend goes, I sort of abandoned both.
As often happens on the weekend one or more children are out either to a friends, work or band practice so I don't feel vacating these implements of modernity for two days . . . unless it's snowing and we really can't and don't go anywhere.
I never hated the cold living in Denver the way I hate the cut right through you to the bone cold out here. There have been many times I have wondered if I would ever be warm again - and sometimes that thought has crossed my mind inside my own house.
But timing is everything. . .
I guess the normal pattern of the weekend here is why I totally spaced out yesterday "We Are One." I know in my mind I was going to get to see it later, on youtube, in dairy entries and such ... so I was okay.
I was overjoyed when I saw greendem's "Pete Seeger Restores "This Land is Your Land" and Muzikal203's dairy We Are One: Wrap Up (UPDATE: Videos of Performances)"
I played a few of the video and decided to wait until today, when the plows had come, the kids would once again be at friends, or at work and I could view the concert in peace.
Then I saw a disturbing headline on Americablog. HBO owns Obama's inaugural concert. If you took any photos or videos you'd better destroy them now. It seems Joe Sudbury posted a copy of their broadcast and they objected.
So does that mean most of videos posted in Muzikal203's diary are gone? Yes it does
Just in the last few minutes as I was writing this the Pete Seeger video greendem has posted as been taken down too. (Seriously it was there when I clicked on it and seconds after the video ended it was/is gone)
And many videos on youtube about yesterday are now gone.
My desire yesterday to have this whole thing on DVD for posterity. Unfortunately that maybe the only way to see it now.
I'm sure I'm not alone with having to wait to see this . . . but now I (and others) have missed something truly wonderful.
