This was a historic day. The transfer of power in this country should be the foundation for peace throughout the world. With eyes red from overwhelming joy, I write my happy and sad thoughts.
Happy Thoughts
I'm happy that Barack Obama used his middle name. Take that islamophobes!
I'm happy that I can now capitalize 'President' again. President Obama sounds gooood!
I'm happy that the girls approved of the speech. I believe Sasha gave him the thumbs up and I think (my lip-reading skills are in question) Malia said, "That was pretty good."
I'm happy that the First Lady could be a model. Muwhrarrrr!
I'm happy that the Secret Service is so amazing they don't even need to be thought about. They do need to be thanked occasionally though: Thank you, Secret Service.
Sad Thoughts
I'm sad that the oath of office was ruined by John Roberts, a Bush appointee. They never get anything right when it counts.
I'm sad that the only time we saw the personality and charm of our President today was during Al Roker's "interview".
I'm sad that Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd couldn't party all day. Maybe in 2012.
I'm sad that I do not measure up to my President's call for service. Yet.
