According to the AP (Famed quartet played inauguration to taped music), the performers of John William's incredible quartet for the inauguration were actually faking. They used a recording.
As such, I have demanded an apology from Senator Feinstein and have sent the following email:
Dear Senator Feinstein,
As a professional musician whom has just learned that the "inauguration quartet's" performance was, in fact, a recording. I am writing you demanding that you take to the Senate floor tomorrow (or to some other public forum) and apologize on behalf of the Joint Inaugural Committee for lying to the American people.
You, along with President Obama, have promised transparency. Well, now here's your chance to prove it. I want to know whether you were aware that the quartet intended to use a recording instead of performing live. I want to know if the composer, the illustrious John Williams, was informed of this decision. I want to know why the media was not informed prior to the event that a recording would be used.
I was thrilled and exhilirated by the performance, but I should have known that Ms. Montero's gloves were a cover-up. I think you, as head of the Joint Inaugural Committee, should take full blame for this matter. Don't you dare pass this off to the White House unless they were the final decision makers on the matter.
I await your apology.
Very truly yours,
(ME)
P.S. Please be aware that I have posted a copy of this letter on DailyKos
Contact Senator Feinstein at her Senate website (http://feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ContactUs.EmailMe) and express your dismay with this lack of transparency.
UPDATE === I love making you Kossacks look like the hypocrites you really are. Transparency??? MY ASS!
UPDATE #2 === You people just don't get it. It's the stupid distractions like these that will harm Democrats' credibility and prevent us from governing at our best level. You're too busy insulting me to understand that, though. Why do you think Fox News has this story on their front page???
