I've had it! Yet another appointment, this time Nancy Killefer for the newly created budget watchdog position, has been discovered with tax problems. At least she had the decency to bow out while Tom ("Home, James") Daschle hangs on in hopes of serving his health care paymasters down the road apiece.
Barack meanwhile is spending his time sniffing the butts of the likes of Judd Gregg (he of staunch opposition to minimum wage increases) and Mitch McConnell. (AGAIN, THE IMAGE IS DISCONCERTING AND I APOLOGIZE, BUT THE CAVE-IN TO THE RETHUGS IS EVEN MORE SO...I LOVE OBAMA, THAT'S WHY I AM SO DAMN ANGRY!) Barack talks a good game ("what's up with those plutocratic bankers and their bonuses"), but when push comes to shove, action escapes him. Unfortunately he seems very committed to not rocking the boat, even though the boat (and our and our children's futures) is sinking around him. What happened to the infrastructure investment in green jobs? What happened to the commitment to remove the stench of corporate money from our politics? I could care less about the damn puppy and what a wonderful family man he is. This man's politics stinks and I've had it with his platitudes and his daily exceptions to all his wonderful policy pronouncements. Talk is cheap. Daschle needs to go. A stimulus bill that demands serious equity from the banks and intensive oversight of the boardroom bandits is the order of the day. Unfortunately, Hillary and John McCain were right...BO's out of his depth and we really didn't know him. The speeches are great. But the actions and follow through and exceptions are basically more of the same in a prettier package. And David Plouffe wants me to spend my time at house parties...maybe Tom Daschle can pony up some of my rent while I'm eating chips and dip for our new plutocrats. Gimmee a break!
