Tonight I witnessed yet another [not so] subliminal anti-liberal message on a FOX [not FOX News] regular program. The program was Lie to Me (not a euphemism for 'Hannity'), which I thought was entertaining at first, although not scientifically accurate.
Tonight they used once again, photos of recognizable people after a depiction of a facial tick or gesture.
I wasn't upset when they showed Bill Clinton while referencing evasion, but tonight, they spoke about a hand rubbing gesture supposedly linked to not believing what you're saying. They then showed three women making the same gesture.
My problem is that the three women they showed making the gesture were not Leona Helmsley, Susan Smith and Tammy Faye Bakker. They were Lady Diana, Speaker Pelosi, and Michelle Obama.
This is not the first time FOX has done this. They continually use 24 as a propaganda tool for torture. That's horrid yes, but at least most intelligent people see it as fantasy. The subtle messages though, they are what irks me.
I remember an episode of 24, and maybe some of you do too, wherein Jack is 'interrogating' a suspect, and he looks at a picture. The picture shows the suspect (who is a 'bad guy' of course) with Bill Clinton. Jack says,"you're friends can't get you out of this one." What TF is the message there.
/crazy POed rant, but I just think it is patently wrong to imply that Lady Di, Speaker Pelosi and our First Lady didn't believe what they said at anytime. First off, Di is deceased, the Speaker has enough negativity from their 'news' channel, and Michelle is the WIFE of our president. Not to mention that the picture of Michelle was from inauguration night. I mean come on FOX. Have you no shame?
Whatever. Maybe I'm blowing this out of proportion, but I don't like seeing a show I used to find entertaining trashing our leaders, or a deceased philanthropist. It... Well I don't know. Let me know what you all think.
>>>Edited a bit to clean up grammar and such, and add some more outrage about exactly why the figures they chose were off limits
