First came the ice storms that killed 28, at least. Then the thaw, with previously frozen limbs falling and injuring several others.
Now comes the wind.
This afternoon, 60 mph+ straight line winds pummeled the places in Kentucky that were already suffering from power outages. This makes no sense.
No sense, unless one just accepts these events as nature in a specific microcosm, as I do. In no way do I believe that any deity has had anything to do with it. But I wonder......
Some might point out that Bunning, the "kindly" jock who is entering his dotterage kicking and screaming, might be part of it. That washed up baseball "star" would not even visit Michigan, where he was once popular, for fear of being shouted down for his wingnut votes that tangibly injure those folks. But he is small fish is a large pond, and likely will either resign, not seek reelection, or die in office.
McConnell, from Kentucky, is the minority leader of the Senate. He is the ultraconservative wingnut who essestially has said: "Whatever the Democrat[sic] Party wants, we will oppose".
And oppose they did. In the House, only, well, zero, Republicans voted for the recovery bill. (By the way, I am not a big fan of it, but I can not come up with anything better, and suggestions are welcomed). In the Senate, McConnell has been lambasting it.
Of course, four out of six Representatives in the House from Kentucky are Republicans. So, out of eight in the entire picture, six are Republicans. Hmmmm, no wonder that God hates Kentucky.
I hope that folks recognize this as satire, but it does make me wonder. Warmest regards,
Doc
