Geithner's got to go. He's the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's a gutless wonder who won't stand up to the big guys. He's Larry Summers' poodle.
We need someone like Gordon Brown. He is standing up to the financial guys, firing the ones that screwed up and demanding accountability from the ones who get the bail-out money.
From the Guardian:
Turning to the multibillion-pound taxpayer bailout, he added: "These people who have been responsible, and had to come to the Treasury to ask for support so that the banks have now got government shares in them, the main people who were involved in that have gone."
That's right. The big guys that have gotten in trouble and taken us all down with them are gone in England. They're not whinging in front of Congress with lame mea culpas. $350 billion has vanished down some blackhole and still these guys are here. Why? and how can Geithner clean up a mess he's a part of. He was in the room when tarp money was being doled out. He sat on his hands and did nothing. Nothing. He's a scared little rabbit who will hop to and do whatever Wall Street wants.
We don't have to be in this recession. It's completely due to major capital markets heedlessly moving capital around without any regard to any nation's economy. This transnational flight of capital has to be dealt with internationally. Gordon Brown was a fantastic Secretary of the Treasury. He's the reason Britain's economy and Tony Blair did so well. He knows what's what. Geithner: no how does he have the know-how to fix this mistake. Obama get us someone better. Much better.
