According to Lynn Sweet, Rahm Emanuel's brother is working on Health Care Reform within the administration.
It is unknown in the article if Dr. Emanuel is replacing Tom Daschle as OHR but he would make a fantastic choice. He knows healthcare cold. I know people might be averse to another Emanuel in the White House, but I don't think Howard Dean would work in this position anyways. Howard Dean might be an okay HHS but if Obama picks Sebelius, which based on the evidence, is looking quite likely, then that would be alright as well.
Assuming Dr. Emanuel is OHR and Sebelius is working as HHS, there is no problem for Health Care Reform. It will go through this year.
Here's his bio: Dr. Emanuel's bio
Here's part of it:
"According to his NIH bio, Dr. Emanuel is "widely published on the ethics of clinical research, advance care directives, end-of-life issues, euthanasia, the ethics of managed care, and the physician-patient relationship, Dr. Emanuel's articles have appeared in The New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Journal of American Medical Association, and many other medical and ethics journals. His book, The Ends of Human Life, has been widely praised and received the Rosenhaupt Memorial Book Award by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation."
