I went seaching for beauty today and this is what I found ...

Today's beauty is divided into two folders:
February 20, 2009 (Tampa) - University of Tampa and downtown Tampa, thankfully not devoid of life
Avian Air Show (February 20, 2009) - a cold, stiff breeze at Picnic Island turned out to provide an ideal environment for watching birds essentially behave like kites, either hovering in place or drifting.

I read something horrendous today and mourning for the stupidity of humankind:
http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/...
This is the sort of self-destructive planet-destroying stupidity which can very easily extinguish civilization and drive an intelligent tool-making primate species extinct. The Canadians don't mind transforming their land into a toxic sewer, either, since they worship a powerful god called Money and this god is allowed to destroy anything for its own sake.
So, yes, I was extremely happy to see the stock market continue its decline today. I was happy to see gold exceed $1000 an ounce (again):

This world in which we are living is passing away. This sick, insane world of greed, gluttony, and planet-scale destruction is ending.
Let it end.
Stop fighting.
Make peace with your God, your neighbor, your enemies and Nature.
Humankind's greatest enemy is human nature. Unfortunately this is an illness which our species cannot cure. Given enough time, perhaps, evolution would purge out all of the bugs in the Homo sapien program, but there isn't enough time.
It is too late to worry and it is too late to mourn the fate of humankind.
Go outside and learn to value the living world more than the world which is passing away.
Capitalism is dead. Thank God! Capitalism is dead.
