The congressman who was imposed on us years ago by Tom DeLay's gerrymandering scheme continues to show why he should never have been elected to office in the first place.
The man who I am ashamed to say represents my district, Pete (Rep. Moron) Sessions (TX-32) continues to add to his image as a man completely unworthy to represent my district.
The same Pete Sessions who voted against creating as many as .7,500 jobs in his district by opposing the stimulus and who refuses to give back money donated to him by fraud suspect Allen Stanford demonstrated earlier in the session that he is uncerned about the plight of kids not covered by health insurance by voting against SCHIP legislation that was recently signed into law by President Obama.

Sessions has been anything but a friend of those with kids who need to be covered by health insurance, but how could one NOT conclude that he holds a "let them eat cake" attitude when it comes to the less fortunate (not to mentions those who would benefit from SCHIP) when he makes a statement like this one (as quoted in the blog Sessions Watch:
Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Tex.) argued that "rather than taking the opportunity to cover the children that cannot obtain coverage through Medicaid or the private marketplace, this bill uses these children as pawns in their cynical attempt to make millions of Americans completely reliant upon the government for their health-care needs."
What a sorry man making a sorry excuse to not lift a finger to help kids and their parents who really need health insurance. Then again, while Sessions spits at those in need through his votes against things like SCHIP, he sees nothing wrong with keeping donations from a donor who is accused of the type of fraud Stanford is alleged to have committed.
I hope the Demoncratic Congressional Campaign Committee continues to make next year's race for Sessions' seat a priority and a strong opponent steps forward to face him next year. Anyone who speaks glowing about the tactics of the Taliban while stabbing average folks in his district in the back by voting against things like the stimulus and SCHIP should not be seriously considered to hold any post, including dog catcher.
