I just finally saw the Frontline episode on the "Meltdown". I was supremely disappointed, and it made me realize what's wrong with MSM. Follow me below the fold for my reaction.
The entire Frontline story came across as a story of how poor Hank Paulson had to swallow his principles and save the American economy. Pullleeeezeee.... Here's a guy who's culpable for the mess we find ourselves in, and he's arguing "Moral Hazard". Give me a f-ing break. It's clear to me, that, like all the times I've dealt with journalists, the producers of the Frontline piece had a story they want to tell, and they cherry picked the interviews, photos, and video footage to make that story. Reality be damned.
But what really struck me was how journalism has sunk as low as it can go. If Frontline, the bastion of investigative journalism can get away with only reporting the Who, What, Where, When, How and completely punt on the Why.... well, that's the end of MSM, as far as I'm concerned.
Where was the SEC? No mention.
Where was the Bush Administration and Bubbles Greenspan during the run up? No mention.
Yet another hit job that doesn't help the American public understand how our Government completely abrogated its responsibility to us, the citizens of this great country. And how, our government is "of the people, by the people and for the people". That we elected them and that therefore, we abrogated OUR responsibility to each other.
Get me the clicker... I'm surfing to the Playboy Channel. At least they're up front about fantasy.
