Head on over to Recovery.gov and you'll find this section, where governors' letters to the White House to activate their share of the stimulus money.
Included among them, a priceless letter from a certain red state Republican governor.
So far received: Sebelius, Lynch, Freudenthal, Kulongoski, Doyle, Granholm, Strickland, Patrick, Kaine, Quinn, Rell, aaand Perry.
Wait, Rick Perry?
Yep, ol' Rick wrote in to claim his prize, and it's a whiny letter at that. He spends the whole letter saying he's opposed to the money, and pimping the Texan way of doing things, and then takes the money anyway.
There's an episode of The Simpsons relevant to this situation (there's a quote from that show for pretty much every occasion, really):
Ron Howard: Really? You have children? Aw, well look, here's some money.
Homer: No. I don't want your pity or your money.
Ron Howard: Usually when you say that, you give the money back.
Homer: I do what, now?
Also of note: Kansas emailed there's.
