A little undercover research taught me that the "Patriotic Resistance" (wingnut astroturfing just like the Tea Parties, but with more guns) has successfully freeped the following poll:

Grade Obama's performance, from A to F.
Below the fold, a short analysis of who we're up against
The "Patriotic Resistance" looks to me like a marketing campaigned designed to win back Ron Paul supporters to the GOP. Obviously one thing that wingnuts and Paultards both love is guns, the deadlier the better. They are uniting in their common love of the movie Red Dawn, shouting "Wolverines!!!" and fantasizing about situations that provide them with some kind of moral context for violence. It's the same kind of populism that worked for the Cossacks, the Nazis, and the Taliban: appeal to the the very worst instincts you can.
Paultards are a highly desirable demographic due to their ability to organize online and appeal to the young, both among the GOP's major weaknesses.
If one were to approach this from a marketing perspective, which I am not necessarily suggesting, this could be counteracted by moving towards marijuana decriminalization. Also, for fuck's sake, we need to sharpen our anti-school prayer messaging. "Why should schools be allowed to tell my children when and where to pray?" I say this all the time, and it's been pretty effective.
It's 2 AM, and I have work tomorrow. So I'm not going to apologize for the quality of this diary or it's lack of any proper conclusion, or the fact that I'm going to go to bed immediately after posting.
PS: I am obviously not the director of Paultard outreach.
