This has been a bad couple of weeks for one Michael Steele. It looks like he's going to loose his job very soon. One would think he would try and get his facts straight before making statements. Alas, he will never learn.
Many people are talking about comments Mr. Steele made during his interview with GQ. He stated bipartisanship doesn't work and also stated he liked Sinatra and the "Pack Rats." However, here is an interesting claim by him:
Do you think you’re [Steele and the Republican party] more welcoming to pro-choice people than Democrats are to pro-lifers?
Now that’s a good question. I would say we are. Because the Democrats wouldn’t allow a pro-lifer to speak at their convention.
Did he not see the 2008 Democratic Convention:
Love that clip. Anyway, that speaker was Senator Robert Casey of Pennsylvania. He's a Democrat and he's ardently pro-life. He even supported the nomination of John Roberts and Samuel Alito. While those things don't endear him to people on this board, he was nonetheless allowed plenty of time to speak in Denver at our convention.
I'm sure there are other instances of pro-life politicians that spoke at that and other Democratic conventions. Please list them and I will post them.
Over the last couple of weeks, many people have though of Mr. Steele a total buffoon for speaking without thinking. With comments like this, it's easy to see why.
