Is there a right-wing equivalent to Daily Kos? No, not really, but the closest contender is "RedState." It's a pretty small site, but it has managed to make a name for itself. The name I use is "morons."
Recently, RedState began posting a "Morning Briefing" letting all the good wingnut boys and girls know what they're supposed to be thinking and saying for the day. Let's check out today's issue.
BREAKING THIS MORNING: Democrats Hanging on to Madoff Donations While Members Agitate for Return of Legal AIG Bonuses
Washington Times reporter and friend of RedState Amanda Carpenter has a front page story in today’s paper on the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee’s (DSCC) refusal to return $100,000.00 in donations made by disgraced and indicted ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff.
Embarrassing, I guess, but what good would it do to give money back to Bernie Madoff?
The Campaign To Bankrupt The Palin Family
From just September till now, Sarah Palin has accumulated a personal dept[sic] of over $500,000 in legal fees defending herself against fake/false/frivolous ethics charges. That’s Five Hundred Thousand Dollars.
What kind of monsters would try to destroy a politician by dogging him her with endless legal harassment about Whitewater frivolous things? You know, frivolous things like using her office to pursue family vendettas, illegally charging travel expenses while living at home and then failing to pay taxes on that income. Y'know, stuff everyone does and expects to get away with. The shock! The outrage! The subtitle of this item is, "The left fears Sarah Palin so they will try to destroy her and her family now." Yeah. That's it... fear. Sure. We fear Palin, the international punch line. Where do they get this stuff?
Tim Geithner Gets The Full Maxine Waters Experience
A video clip of Maxine Waters grilling Geithner. It was originally posted by emptywheel at Firedoglake and RedState thinks its hilarious because Maxine Waters is clearly insane and "Geithner’s facial expressions in this video are just priceless." Um, OK.
Hold the Phone: Dodd’s WIFE Was Paid by AIG?
And yet even as you’ve sworn up and down that you never wanted to protect AIG, and you have no reason to wish to do so, we learn that your wife served on the board of - and was compensated by - an AIG subsidiary?
ZOMG, this is HUGH! I'm SERIES!
So, Dodd's wife was an outside director of an insurance fund from 2001-2004. AIG had a 20% equity stake in this fund until 2006. It says this right at the front of the article. Dodd's wife was not paid by AIG. She was paid a few thousand dollars by this company. This has exactly nothing to do with anything.
Chris Dodd’s Quaint Irish ‘Cottage’
Dodd owns an estate in Ireland which he said was worth $100,000 but according to this article it must be worth more and Dodd bought it from a convicted felon who he tried to get Clinton to pardon. It's Whitewater II — Electric Boogaloo. Or something.
Senate to discreetly shut down House AIG bill of attainder
Congress is delaying action on the bill to tax the AIG bonuses, which will probably effectively kill it. Yesterday they said this whole thing was a bad idea, and now they'll giggling like schoolgirls over the secret Democratic plan to kill it. Or something.
Tim Geithner, Secretary of Nationalization
Obama wants to give Geithner the same power to take over other financial institutions that he has over banks and the wingnuts are apoplectic. RedStater Brian Darling defly manages to bridge from "financial institutions" to "industries" in one sentence and the next thing you know, we're all living in Soviet Russia and Yakov Smirnoff is popular again. The horror. The horror.
GOP Sees Opportunity in Northeast
There are some competitive races in the Northeast where Republicans might be able to take seats from Democrats — like Chris Dodd, did we mention Chris Dodd? If Republicans win all of them, that would be awesome! No mention of seats that Republicans might lose... oh, and give money to Jim Tabasco!

RedState:
Democrat Ben Cardin wants to bail out newspapers.
Keep in mind that local newspapers and the Wall Street Journal actually are not doing too bad. Why? They tend not to have the left-wing bias that Ben Cardin wants to prop up.
Bailout?
Reality:
With many U.S. newspapers struggling to survive, a Democratic senator on Tuesday introduced a bill to help them by allowing newspaper companies to restructure as nonprofits with a variety of tax breaks.
