So I hadn't checked my redstate registered email address in a while, but today I did. And I found this gem:
Dear John:
We need to get the Blue Dog Democrats to slow down budget approval in the House of Representatives. The vote in committee is tonight.
STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
PICK UP THE PHONE.
CALL 202-224-3121.
Ask for one of these five Congressmen:
- Alan Boyd of Florida
- Bob Etheridge of North Carolina
- Charlie Melancon of Louisiana
- Chet Edwards of Texas
- John Yarmuth of Kentucky
Tell them to vote no on the budget tonight. We can stop the budget if you will pick up your phone right now. The vote is tonight.
Sincerely yours,
Which means the republicans are still looking to the "blue" dogs for support in being the party of no. Apparently if more than just their party is obstructionist, its bipartisan partisan obstructionism. Or something.
Another gem:
Dear John,
During this unprecedented time in our nation's financial history, Americans everywhere are experiencing hardships and personal crises they never would have imagined.
But with these difficult times often come great courage and perseverance.
Republicans in the United States House of Representatives want to know your story.
While President Obama's team tells us that only the most successful Americans will soon be subject to a massive tax hike, the simple truth is that every single American who flips on a light switch is taxed under the President's budget. In fact, an MIT study examining the effects of an energy tax similar to the President's plan will cost American households an average of $3,128 per year. Republicans want to hear how this tax increase will affect your ability to pay your health care premiums, send your children to college, start a small business, or otherwise achieve your American Dream.
Please go here and share with the House Republicans what you will have to give up to send Barack Obama the extra $3,128 he demands from you.
Apparently any links to that study are forbidden. I have a feeling that the study might not be so clear cut. Anyone have knowledge of it? I am willing to bet many of you do. I tried a few pages of google search results but seeing as the study is so vaguely mentioned, not cited or given a title, I haven't had any luck locating said study. Doesn't really help that MIT is uhhh a research school that puts out a lot of studies.
So anyone know which study? Does the study say that? Are there a million caveats?
even at a glance one thing stands out to me:
In fact, an MIT study examining the effects of an energy tax similar to the President's plan
I mean how similar is similar? Apparently Obama is a socialist facist communist and pretty much anything else with an -ist at the end. If those are all correct in their minds, what does similar mean in their mind? Is he similar to an oak tree because he was once small and now is tall? Is he similar to a wedding cake because he has carbon? What type of metric are they using to measure this stuff? OH sorry, I meant to say inch or uhh ruler. Metric is an unamerican scientific term that hates liberty.
