In the nationally significant 20th Congressional District special election between Democratic candidate Scott Murphy and Republican candidate Assembly Minority Leader Jim Tedisco, Murphy's momentum continues as the campaign enters the last weekend, according to the Siena Reseach Institute.
Today, the last Siena Research Institute poll finds that Tedisco's once-20-plus, then 12, then four-point lead, is now a four-point deficit (47-43) to Murphy with a margin of error of 3.2 percent.
Details, below.
That Tedisco has continued to deteriorate was evident in what's been leaked about three recent Republican internal polls, two of which have Tedisco ahead by three and one, and one which has Murphy up by two.
There's lots in the Siena poll, even cross-tabs, but the one number I especially like is that Murphy has cut Tedisco's lead in Saratoga and Rensselaer counties from 51-35 two weeks ago to a mere 49-43 now.
Even with Murphy ahead, it will comes down to which candidate's organization will do a better job of getting out the vote.
I don't know what Tedisco's up to, but I do know that Murphy has a large and effective volunteer organization, with lots of labor support.
But it's never too late to help out in whatever way you can.
