Glenn Greenwald's post today justifiably praises Webb's courage for introducing S. 714, The National Criminal Justice Commission Act of 2009.

This really is the least you can do. We get plenty of credit for helping to put Webb in Washington and let's make sure he at least has our receptive ear as he tackles this huge neglected issue. Few domestic American realities match our incarceration program for high costs, widespread suffering and fundamental wrongness. PLEASE take this little step.
You will receive an e-mail to confirm your subscription. Watch for it. Let's see how many new members he can get by Monday.
update: ThisIsMyTime justifiably points out that this diary lacks meat and provides some excellent reasons "Why We Urgently Need S. 714 Legislation":

Frankly I would love it if someone else posted on this today, while Glenn's post is fresh. My focus really is Webb's e-mail list, so naturally I would like people to hammer this over this weekend as much as possible. Let's get him 1,000s!
