So last night us FNBB'ers had a little fun, and I wanted to share the highlights. If you don't know about FNBB, check out the thread, and if you want to know more about FNBB, and learn the rules here's an excerpt:
This weekly series [posted Friday nights around 7PM CST] started because I chose Battlestar Galactica and beer over a night out. It was the perfect way to pass the time while waiting for the show to start. Good thing I still have the beer.
FNBB, has five static questions that you should answer in your first post, to get the conversation started (well I guess the beer does that, but answer them anyway damnit). These are followed by an additional five questions that change every week regarding other crap.
Okay, grab a bottle opener and follow me below the fold. Also, don't say you're drinking cans. If you are then just make up a name for the 'microbrew' you're drinking. Seriously, if we haven't heard of it (perhaps because it doesn't exist) we'll think it's something special.
I'm going to add the following:
First rule of Beer Blogging, you do not talk about Beer Blogging
Second rule of Beer Blogging, you do not talk about Beer Blogging
Putting out plugs on blogs to draw attention however, is quite acceptable.
For those who are uninitiated, I'll share the first five questions and our theme song:
- What are you drinking, and if it's prune juice, try a fiber suppliment instead? It tastes way less gross.
- Did you tell anyone you had plans, just so you could hang out on DKos?
- How early did you skip out of work this afternoon?
- Are you going to be fixated on your computer monitor all weekend (as I'm sure I will be), or are you going to do anything interesting? If so, what is it?
- What's your reason for beer blogging tonight?
h/t to a consistant Friday post on Rich Meyer's Capitol Fax Blog, who's title was so excellent, I borrowed it, but I think I'm still good with fair use, because I added night.
So let's get to some of the best Beer Blogging Comments:
First on the list, and not because of greatness so much as it was the first great comment I found:
beer, beer, glorious beer! (11+ / 0-)
I'm beer blogging because it's Friday, why else?

Next up, and mind you these are based on my own personal assertions, not recs:
When I was a kid in PA growing up, (6+ / 0-)
Yuengling was cheap rot-gut beer, about 50 cents for a quart. Then I went back a few years ago and discovered all these trendy Yuengling beers - and very good they are!
Out here it's Fat Tire tonight. An oldie but goodie that I still don't think is back east.

Out of order, but I'm going to say this was the best comment in FNBB:
[abaout vulcans] Yeah... (4+ / 0-)
Most of the time, they're all like, "We have no emotions. We're all above you and your petty little emotions." Then they go and steal your school cheer, and you just know they're all in the back room snickering 'cause when you yell at them they can be all stoic and stuff.
Bastards.
Fricking Vulcans always harsh my buzz. Next we award the most illistrative comment to... Oh yeah, me. Tell me if you don't get a mental picture:
Sorry, I just got back, I had to put on pants (6+ / 0-)
It got chilly with the patio door open
Best newcomer?
We'll see, but if you want, check out the comments. We were a raucous bunch last night.
