This one has to be short because it's late and I have a 6 AM deadline for something else. But this link is just too good for me not to pass along.
There is a website called hedgetracker. Shockingly, it specializes in news and information about hedge funds. I know, crazy, right? I mean, who would be interested in that kind of stuff?
Anyhow. Hedgetracker has realized that between Madoff and Stanford and Walsh and Marc Dreier and Countrywide and Chrysler and that guy who faked his own death and Long Term Captial Management and the John McCain for President campaign, there are just too many examples of large-scale financial fraud for the average person to keep it all straight. So they started a list, ranked by the amount of stolen cash. Sorry EW, Jamie Dimon and JP Morgan Chase are not yet on this list-- but I digress.
The list is at The Hall of Fraud, which you can click for details any time you run into one of these shysters and want to see just how much money they stole. That's the substance- boring detail follows after the jump.
Disclaimers - I'm not affiliated with Hedgetracker in any way. I just heard of them for the first time tonight. And the list, as far as I can tell, posts both accused criminals and people who have already pled guilty or been convicted. But even if courts haven't ruled yet, it's presumably safe to bet that guys like the not-yet-proven-guilty Sir Dr. Phil Lookalike Stanford won't be proclaiming their innocence from outside federal prison for very much longer.
Anyhow. Kossaks, enjoy! and I hope this is useful to at least one of you in the days to come.
