This is basically as funny as it gets! Here is a link to Sen. "Diapers" David Vitters bill to commemorate Apr 15th as National Tea Bag Day.
On April 15, millions of grassroots voters will assemble in cities and towns across the country for the first National TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party to register their displeasure with our government's addiction to wasteful spending, bailouts for big business, and higher taxes. Help me force the Senate to recognize this day as a formal protest by the people against these policies.

This is, of course, paid for by David Vitter for U.S. Senate.
Millions! of Astro-turf clowns, and lions and tigers and Bear markets! Oh My!
Well, less lions and tigers, but lots of Fat Cats behind the scenes.
Thomas Jefferson must be rolling in his grave.
follow below to see how teh Dick Armey surrounds us all . . . oooooohh
The bill, S.R. 98, is actually before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Vitter has yet to get any body to co-sponsor the bill. I can imagine how Senators Coburn and Corynyn, the top Republicans on the committee, just can't wait to support their fellow Republican in their march over the cliff of ridiculous.
First EPIC FAIL. The real Boston Tea Party happened on December 16, in 1776, NOT on April 15th. ,wiki.answers.com Vitter, you jackass
This is where the Dick Armey being assembled begins to make sense

Here the link to the video where David Shuster clowns the GOP and hands teh Dick Armey it's badge of shame
Dick Armey is funding the tea parties. It is like the India Tea Company organizing a march on Colonial local government.
We'll get back to teh Dick Armey later.
Other Republicans willing to stand up against the clean up of the mess created by the irresponsible , careless and out of touch Republican party of 3 months ago are . . .
When MSNBC makes you it's bitch in front of the world, and you are challe

think progress
These Assrockets deserve all the pies and water ballons you can throw at them (I'm filling mine with iced-tea!), but Vitter takes the cake for leading the cry to make April 15th a national holiday recognizing the Anti-Tax tea parties. The hat tip goes to AZ AF VET, who wrote a diary on this back on Apr 3 titled !Senator Vitter wants April 15 designated as National Tea Party Day
Paul Krugman wrote an Op-Ed this weekend on the tea party crazies. IMHO, he should be getting his next Nobel Peace Prize in Political Psychology.
. . . . . here’s the thing: the G.O.P. looked as crazy 10 or 15 years ago as it does now. That didn’t stop Republicans from taking control of both Congress and the White House. And they could return to power if the Democrats stumble. So it behooves us to look closely at the state of what is, after all, one of our nation’s two great political parties.
One way to get a good sense of the current state of the G.O.P., and also to see how little has really changed, is to look at the "tea parties" that have been held in a number of places already, and will be held across the country on Wednesday. These parties — antitaxation demonstrations that are supposed to evoke the memory of the Boston Tea Party and the American Revolution — have been the subject of considerable mockery, and rightly so.
~snip~
Last but not least: it turns out that the tea parties don’t represent a spontaneous outpouring of public sentiment. They’re AstroTurf (fake grass roots) events, manufactured by the usual suspects. In particular, a key role is being played by FreedomWorks, an organization run by Richard Armey, the former House majority leader, and supported by the usual group of right-wing billionaires. And the parties are, of course, being promoted heavily by Fox News.

That is right, your Populist anti-Tax/Spend Big Government Tea Bagging orderly revolution is being led by Dick Armey from behind the scenes. We are exactly 12 Lizard people and an Elvis away from the Event Horizon of Assrocket social gatherings. This makes a McCain/Palin rally look like a Goth-kids sleepover party. In terms of douchbaggery and illiteracy per capita, nothing like this has been proposed since the first Wrestlemania.
And this is what is inspired by the Billionaire uber-populists.
Teh Dick Armey is the best name ever for the Glenn Beck/Michele Bachmann/Raving Foaming At The Mouth lunatics who are this close to going from pitchforks to bandoliers. The out of touch lunacy that did not see a thing wrong with 8 years of drastic tax cuts to the wealthy is now rallying to defend the wealthy and limit Government spending on social programs. Class warfare is easier when you get us to fight each other. Better yet, this example takes the cake.
And the big message behind the national movement is NO!
Priceless.
In reality (where we live when we aren't stocking up on ammo) these are the real guys who have been throwing the big Tea Partay for the last 8 years, while we cut rich guys taxes and spent like we stole a credit card. I guess tax and spend is bad, but only tax non-poor people and spend like crazy is a principle worth laying our workday evening on the line for!
EPIC FAIL!
