Understandably, we are all upset at the Obama administrations refusal to prosecute those who tortured in the name of America. Put in perspective though, it is on the tip of an evil iceberg that encompasses the last 8 years.
How many millions Iraqi and Afghan citizens had to flee their homes? Over 1 million Iraqis died as the result of the Iraq war. A million! Try counting to a million one by one and see how long it takes you. That is how many lost their lives in the name of America and freedom.
Why is there no cry for justice? Why is their no outrage and shock that military aggression in contravention of international law, and conspiracy to defraud the United States of America goes quietly unpunished by the administration and the nation.
Justice says prosecute for torture. Yet as I think about the CIA members having immunity and Emmanuel saying no prosecutions for anyone I can't help but think about why I am really upset. I want JUSTICE for Iraq and Afghanistan. I want justice for 9/11, real justice, which means that the use of that tragedy to kill hundreds of thousands is a perversion of humanity.
I want justice. I want it to be talked about at least. The war is Iraq was illegitimate and criminal and there is a deaf sound throughout America about that.
I am no economist either, but I don't doubt that part of this financial crises had to do with spending hundreds of billions (2 trillion?) on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is evidence that all the no bid contracts, the cost-plus, the redistribution of wealth from the mass of Americans to the few was deliberate. I want justice.
Don't you want it too? I don't want to just move forward and cover our eyes as though it didn't happen. I'd take the blame for it. Label me a traitor and crucify me just so long as America and the world can know that starting a war that kills millions and displaces millions more is evil.
Does anyone else feel as I?
