Is torturing a human being moral under any circumstances?
The Pundits are out in full force, local and national right wing radio hosts are pulling no stops with the public's airwaves advocating somthing that is not only illegal but highly immoral.
It's a no brainer, but for some reason the same group of people who claim the religious high ground (not all but several) want to argue an convince the public that some forms of torture are more appropriate than others.
This is an area that becomes a win win situation not only morally but politically for the left.
Where is the 700 club on torture? Why aren't they talking about this issue like the do every other issue? Why?
The answer is simple, because even in their mockery of the Bible and proclaimed self righteous rant, they know that it's wrong to torture. They won't be speaking in the pulpits this Sunday proclaiming torture should be allowed and everyone should support the Republicans on this issue.
I stomached about an half hour of listening to the rationale of right repeating the talking point on how it saved our country from a second 9/11 through the use of "waterboarding". I listened to some of these goons propose torturing another human being to inflict pain upon them for the greater good.
Sigh.....
If we as a country cannot even agree upon whether torturing a person is right or wrong, what can we agree upon?
The right shouldn't be allowed to use the public's airwaves to muster support for somthing blatently so wrong and illegal...
I don't think too many Christian leaders will be advocating torture in the name of God this Sunday....
"They honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me"...Jesus Christ (I think this is an incidence where you can apply this to any so called Christian who thinks torturing has its place)
P.S. please forgive the "sacrifice typo in my poll" I cannot correct it.
