Like many of you, I have taken a special guilty-pleasure in observing conservative rage and angst since Obama and democrats' triumphant victory in 2008. I frequent places like Hot Air, Free Republic, and even checked out some Limbaugh clips once in a while. Knowing that US has been steadily climbing back onto the right track, as shown by the new AP-GFK poll, I drink their pain like the deliciously sweet elixir that it is.
Which brings me to my main point: Yahoo is one of the places where I get my unbiased news since they compile news and opinions from multiple sources. It is also where I first saw the article with the AP-GFK poll. I knew conservatives are out in droves now more united than ever in their opposition to Obama, it hasn't really dawned on me just how far the insanity seeps until I saw the new "buzz board" feature. This is about as close to Glenn Beck's "We surround them" fantasy land as I have seen anywhere else. Conservative anti-Obama comments seem to far outnumber those of moderates, progressives and liberals. I have not seen such discrepancy even on Hot Air.
Now I have used Yahoo for many years, all the way back during the early Bush years when they had the old format with the old functioning, unmoderated message board for every one of their stories. Back then the conservative/liberal ratio were much more even, and in many cases the progressive liberal posts far outnumber those of the conservatives and had far higher recs. Where have all those people gone? It's almost as if which ever party that loses just ends up on the Internet and rants while the winners disconnect and focus more on their lives? Or does Obama just incite so much conservative hatred that they're all just coming out of the woodworks at once? Or have Yahoo just become more FOX-like in recent times? You'll see one such evidence of that if you watch any of Yahoo's news videos, you will always see FOX news clips featuring Hannity, Glenn Beck, O'Reilly, and even Limbaugh and Coulter at times, but you never see any videos from MSNBC.
Maybe Yahoo's stock is suffering so much it needs to boost itself by showcasing the ratings-rich FOX news? Or maybe we should just forget about it and enjoy more conservative pain? :P
