Okay, here's a nice bright spot from the AP:
For the first time in years, more Americans than not say the country is headed in the right direction, a sign that Barack Obama has used the first 100 days of his presidency to lift the public's mood and inspire hopes for a brighter future.
Intensely worried about their personal finances and medical expenses, Americans nonetheless appear realistic about the time Obama might need to turn things around, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll. It shows most Americans consider their new president to be a strong, ethical and empathetic leader who is working to change Washington.
Of course the article goes on to question when the honeymoon will be "over" as people have been doing since November 4th, and accuse Obama of being polarizing because Republicans don't like him, but I love the fact that more people are OPTIMISTIC about the direction the country is going.
Granted, people are still worried about the economy, but I think that it says a LOT that people are now feeling more optimistic about the direction the country is going, this is even after the anti-Obama tea parties, and the whining about Obama shaking a man's hand on camera. I'm sure the attacks against Obama's "socialist" ways will only get worse.
Sorry for the short diary, I'll add some pics or something in a minute :o)
Update: Here are some slides I have from the first 100 days (sorry, I don't think I did one for the Inauguration)
