I know I shouldn't be talking about top secret operations in the open but it is time to declare this a success and take some credit.

I have been working with the elite of the elite in the liberal blogosphere and our plan to infiltrate the right wing media has gone exceedingly beyond our expectations.

More on the flip.

Infiltrating the right wing would be easy. Just act stupid and say whatever you hear Rush, Glenn, Shawn, Ann, Laura and the other guiding lights of conservatism are ranting about that day.

The issue was what to do once we had infiltrated. Say we infiltrated and Glenn I mean let's call him Stan, decided to work with us. What would we want Stan to do? If Stan started saying things like "the liberals were right about this all along," the only likely effect would have been that people would have stopped listening to Michael Stan.

So we determined that the best way to get conservatives out of the way was to move them further to the right. Move them so far to the right that they would take positions that only fellow wing nuts could agree with. The more outrageous their statements got the fewer who would agree and the fewer who agreed the more outrageous their statements would get. If a crazy wing nut or two shot up cops to "protect their guns from Obama" that would prove that our strategy was working.

I can not release the names of those in the conservative echo chamber who are cooperating without jeopardizing my Daily Kos security clearance but I can tell you that we have more than one who have "flipped" and are now working for us. But, I can tell you how to spot a conservative who has "flipped".

First, they may say something totally irrational when justifying their opinion on a major social issues. "I was raised that way," for example.

Second, they would take positions that even a majority of their own group would disagree with, but would have no appeal to anyone outside their group, secession for example. Again security concerns will not allow me release details.

Third, they would insult anyone who wasn't one of them. The best way to make converts to your point of view is to listen and respect those who differ from you and work to find some common ground. So we asked the flipped to insult everyone who disagreed with conservative positions loudly and often. The more vitriolic the better. Especially we wanted them to go after anyone who was different than them in any way. Not just political ideology but also religion, education, and race. Religion and education are fairly easy to insult but insulting race has to done very subtly. Rush(Redacted) is very best at that.

I just wanted to you know that we here in High Command have not been wasting your dues and the conspiracy committee is doing more than holding meetings and eating doughnuts and steamed shrimp.

So keep paying your dues and sending in recommendations on those in the right wing who are candidates for "flipping."

Over and out.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
